Collecting Your BTO Keys
Finally, the day has arrived when you will collect your BTO keys! The journey to this moment has likely seemed very long, but the wait will be worth it. If you are looking forward to this moment, you should be aware of the procedure involved in obtaining your BTO. Here is some advice.
First you will be notified via the HDB portal about your key collection date. Following this, an appointment letter is sent out to you to let you know about the required documents that you have to bring on the date of the key collection. Here is a brief list of what you will need.
You should make sure that you are carrying the original copy of each one of these documents.
Each person listed on the application must provide these:
- Identification card
- Certificate of marriage (for couples that are going to utilise the Fiance/Fiancee Scheme and have already make an application for AHG)
- Certificate of insurance (the insurance must be purchased from the insurer appointed by HDB)
You should make sure that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the time of your appointment so that you have a chance to go to the ETIQA counter to request fire insurance.
After you obtain the insurance, you should return the first floor so that you can obtain the queue number for your appointment. The queue number can be obtained by scanning a barcode found on the appointment letter. You should sit and wait until your number is called. The officer from the HDB will then tell you the total cost that you need to pay.
Following this, you will determine how you want to pay and the terms of the agreement. You will be asked to sign a number of legal documents and pay the initial conservancy fees. Once you have your receipt from this payment, you can meet with the HDB officer and you will have your keys. Now you can take time to figure out what you’d like to do next!
If you want, you can go ahead and turn the utilities on. If the renovation will not start for sometime, then you may want to put it off for a bit until the official work can begin. These steps are fairly easy and you should be able to complete everything without any troubles.
