Our 6 Favorite Floor plans for Mobile Homes

Thinking about making the big leap to mobile home life? We wholeheartedly support you! But if you’re planning on buying a manufactured home brand-new, you’re going to want to consider the many different options available to you. As you’re deciding on the best choice, you’ll take many walk-throughs, watch tons of YouTube videos, and look at various different mobile home floor plans. This can be confusing to the first-time buyer, but we’re here to help you figure it all out.

What are floor plans, exactly? Floor Plans provide a birdseye view of the layout of a given space, offering a quick glance of every room, window, door, appliance, cabinet, sink, tub, or toilet, helping you visualize your life in a certain home. They’re also meant to help you get a better understanding of sizing, with precise measurements that will help you decide if it’s sized right for you. Floorplans even provide some insight into things like flooring (such as which rooms are carpeted and which are tiled) and other finish options.

Know How to Read a Floor Plan

Make sure you know how to read and understand mobile home floor plans before you start your journey. In general, the walls are usually marked with solid lines, but they may be filled with a pattern in some cases. Windows will usually be drawn in with white single or double lines.

Pay close attention to the doors and which way they open and close to see whether or not this will affect your vision for the home. You may be able to alter the location or add windows and doors, depending on the builder. One of the beautiful things about manufactured homes is that they’re new, which means there’s often some opportunity to customize!
